Minecraft slime chunk finder
Green squares are slime chunks. Zoom in, find a spot where several touch, and build a slime farm there.
How slime chunks work
Each chunk is a slime chunk or not, calculated from the world seed and the chunk position. The map runs the same calculation as the game and paints the result.
Slime chunks show when you zoom in close enough to see single chunks. Switch on the chunk grid to count squares and plan a farm.
Questions
What is a slime chunk?
About one chunk in ten is a slime chunk. Slimes can spawn in them below layer 40, in any biome. Which chunks they are is decided by the world seed.
How do I build a slime farm?
Pick a spot where several slime chunks meet, build a spawning floor below layer 40 inside them, and stand at least 24 blocks away, so slimes can spawn but the area stays loaded.
Does this work for Bedrock?
No. Bedrock uses a different method to pick slime chunks, so a Java seed map cannot show them.
Do swamps matter?
Slimes also spawn in swamps near the surface, which does not depend on slime chunks.
