Fabric server hosting
Fabric is the light mod loader: quick to start and quick to update. Saryno gives you a Fabric server in a minute, with a Mods tab to add Fabric API and your mods from Modrinth.
No card needed. 1 GB free forever.
What you get
A Fabric server needs the same care as any other, so it comes with the same tools.
- A Mods tab: install by name from Modrinth, or upload a jar
- Fabric API in one step, since most mods need it
- A live console that shows exactly which mod is missing a dependency
- A "Check for problems" button that reads crash reports and names the mod at fault
- Backups, a file manager with checking for mistakes in config files, and SFTP for big uploads
- Switch Minecraft version later and keep your world, with a copy of the old one kept
Mods are not plugins
Plugins run on Paper and Purpur and need nothing on the player side. Mods change the game itself, so most of them must also be installed by every player. A Fabric server does not run Paper plugins. If your friends want to join with a plain game, Paper is the better choice; if you want new blocks, mobs or machines, pick Fabric.
Mods that help any Fabric server
Lithium, FerriteCore and Krypton work on the server alone and make it faster and lighter. Our guide to making a Fabric server walks through the first steps.
How much memory?
Plan on 2 GB for a few light mods and 4 GB or more for big content mods. The free 1 GB is enough to try a handful of small ones.
Questions
Do you support Forge or NeoForge?
Yes. Pick Forge, NeoForge, Quilt or Fabric when you make the server. Mods for one loader do not work on another, so choose the loader your mods are made for.
Do my friends need the mods too?
Usually yes. Mods that add content must be installed on the server and on every player. Server-side mods like Lithium need nothing from players.
Can I run Paper plugins on Fabric?
No. Plugins and mods do not mix. Choose Paper or Purpur for plugins and Fabric for mods.
