Purpur server hosting

Purpur is Paper with many extra settings to tune how the game behaves. It runs the same plugins, so you can switch between them without losing anything.

No card needed. 1 GB free forever.

What Purpur adds

Purpur is built on Paper, so it has Paper's performance fixes and plugin support. On top it adds a configuration file with options to change mob behaviour, gameplay rules and small details Vanilla does not let you touch. It is a good choice for survival servers that want to feel a little different.

Purpur or Paper?

If you want the most widely supported base, pick Paper. If you want extra options, pick Purpur. Both run the same plugins, and you can switch version or software later: your world, plugins and settings stay.

Questions

Do Paper plugins work on Purpur?

Yes. Purpur is a fork of Paper, and plugins for Paper run on it.

Can I switch from Paper to Purpur?

Yes, in the server settings under Minecraft version. Your world and plugins stay, and a copy of the world is kept.

Is Purpur slower than Paper?

It is about the same. Some of its extra options can cost a little performance if you turn them on.
